We are delighted to have raised £19,220 on the night of the auction. We were supported as before by Ken Anderson and the staff of One Solution in Glasgow. Of the 116 pieces for sale only 27 were left unsold at the end.

We have these pieces plus a pile of prints which we did not have time to mount or frame for this event to be the basis for another event if we can identify a good venue.

Valerie has raised a total of 3,464.12 euros in Ibiza for her water project at the school and she will push that forward when she visits later this year.

Valerie also forged links between a school in Scotland, Gartmore Primary, and NMSE. As a result of her visit the children and teachers decided to fundraise to buy a cow and they have reached their target with the help and support of the village of Gartmore.

The volunteer group from One Solution have also been fundraising in order to build a children’s fruit, vegetable and flower garden during their visit in August. This will be a teaching resource as well as an additional source of fresh food for the children.

As a result of all this fundraising activity the school building programme can continue, the water retaining tanks can be built into the ground and the children will have the benefit of fresh produce they have grown themselves and fresh milk.
